About the Author

Writer and illustrator Martin Cannon has created or contributed to dozens of books, magazines and websites. He enjoys writing about real-life mysteries.

In the 1990s, and very much to his own surprise, Cannon was considered a rather mysterious figure in his own right. One day, he will tell the tale of those strange times -- how he became famous (at least mildly famous) and why he decided to retreat to the comforts of obscurity.

So why is he back? And why did he return to write this book?

For the full story, read the first chapter of The Child Stealers. In short and in sum: Cannon stumbled across evidence of a bizarre nationwide crime wave -- a troubling mystery that few seem willing to discuss.

Someone had to write this book.

Someone had to offer a comprehensible theory of why these imposters do what they do.
